The EU Imposed Sanctions Against the Oilfield Services of Eurasia Drilling Company and SSС
The European Union included in the sanctions list of large oil and oil contractors – Eurasia Drilling Company (EDC) and JSC Siberian Service Company (SSС), the publication reported in the EU official journal.
In addition, the sanctions were imposed against another oilfield company – the Novosibirsk LLC Neftegazpromstroy.
The EDC was created in the mid-1990s on the basis of Lukoil production assets and was called Lukoil-Bunius until 2004. In 2004, Eurasia Drilling Company, controlled by Alexander Japaridze and his partners, bought a company and held an IPO in 2007. Subsequently, the shares were bought from the market, and the Eurasia Drilling Company again became private, Schlumberger planned its purchase, but could not coordinate the deal with the Russian authorities. In May 2022, the company owner was announced. They became the Drilling Company LLC Development, whose owners are close structures to Lukoil.
Since July 2023, EDC has been under the blocking sanctions of the United States.
SSC (Moscow) – one of the largest Russian oilfield companies, has been operating since 2000. The branches of the company are located in the Khanty -Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Yamalo -Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Tomsk region. In addition, the company has a number of production branches, including the repair of wells.
