  • The Founder of INK Marina Sedykh Took Part in the Eurasian Forum

Co-owner of Irkutsk Oil Company LLC Marina Sedykh spoke at the Eurasian Forum as part of the section “Women for Saving the Planet: Creating Our Future”. The event takes place in St. Petersburg from 13 to 15 October.

Currently, INK has decided to make the ESG strategy the main one: the main attention is paid to climate formation and utilization of associated petroleum gas. The company began to engage in sustainable development long before the UN set 17 sustainable development goals in 2015, Marina Sedykh emphasized.

“It was in 2008 when the EBRD became a shareholder in the company. In 2009 we started a cycling process – gas re-injection. For these purposes, the EBRD gave us a targeted loan. We were able to build a compressor for pumping associated gas into the reservoir. And they became the first in Russia to introduce the technology. ”

The company has received a number of awards for the implementation of the cycling process, including an award from the EBRD. In 2013, INK implemented an integrated management system in the field of ecology, labor safety and health protection, which is confirmed annually. The founder of INK noted that there is a stereotype that the extractive industry cannot be “green”. In fact, oil companies understand the damage they can cause, and therefore are at the forefront of all new and advanced technologies.

The Eurasian Women’s Forum has been held in Russia since 2015. The event has become the largest international platform uniting women leaders from all over the world. The main topics for discussion are the role of women in the modern world and the development of common approaches to solving global problems.
