  • The heads of Algerian Sonatrach and French TotalEnergies Discussed Strengthening Their Partnership

    Rachid Hashishi and Patrick Pouyanné agreed to identify opportunities for cooperation, especially in the field of oil production

    The CEO of the Algerian state oil and gas company Sonatrach, Rachid Hashishi, met in Algeria with the head of the French oil and gas company TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanne.

    The parties discussed the state of partnership between the two companies, reviewed the progress of projects and prospects for strengthening the partnership, Algerian Radio reports.

    During the meeting, Hachishi and Pouyanné agreed to “identify partnership opportunities, especially in the field of oil production, both in Algeria and internationally.”

    The head of TotalEnergies also held a meeting with the Minister of Energy and Mines Mohammed Arkab. During the conversation, they discussed issues of cooperation in the field of natural gas and LNG, prospects for cooperation in structural projects in Algeria and abroad.

    Pouyanné and Arkab reviewed future projects in the areas of hydrocarbon development, renewable energy, energy transition and energy storage. They confirmed their commitment to working together to strengthen the partnership and exchange of experience between Sonatrach and TotalEnergies.
