  • The Increase In New Reserves Of Samaraneftegaz Almost Doubled Hydrocarbon Production

Samaraneftegaz, one of the main production assets of Rosneft in the Volga region, at the end of 2023 ensured an increase in reserves in the amount of 18.5 million toe, which replenishes the enterprise’s hydrocarbon production by 168%.

Increasing the efficiency of reserve replenishment and their consistent introduction into development is one of the key elements of Rosneft’s strategy.

In 2023, Samaraneftegaz specialists processed and interpreted more than 1.5 thousand km2 of 3D seismic surveys and 300 linear km of 2D seismic surveys. Over 18.4 thousand meters of rock were covered in exploratory drilling. The construction of prospecting and exploration wells has been completed at the Tereshkovskoye, Novo-Armavirskoye, Vostochno-Krestovskoye, Zapadno-Kabanovskoye, Vostochno-Gorbatovskoye, Severo-Rudnikovskoye and Ekaterinovskoye fields.

The greatest increase was obtained at the Tereshkovsky dome of the Leshchevskoye field and at the East Krestovoy dome of the Mukhanovskoye field during the development of three layers. At the Novo-Armavir dome of the Armavir field, a flow of oil with a flow rate of 168 m3/day was obtained, which also made it possible to increase reserves. During comprehensive surveys, the structure of the fields was studied, including the oil-bearing capacity of productive formations. Based on the results of the analysis of core and formation fluids, the filtration and reservoir characteristics of the host rocks of the reservoirs were determined.

Together with the Company’s research institute in Samara, large-scale work is being carried out to clarify the resource base of all Samaraneftegaz fields. Based on the results of the analysis of the data obtained, a set of geological and technical measures was carried out at the fields, most of which are at a late stage of development, which made it possible to discover 28 new oil deposits during 2023.

Increasing the resource base and increasing reserves are among the main priorities of Samaraneftegaz. The company carries out work on the development of new territories, implements a program of geological exploration work at new and mature fields, including drilling exploratory wells, sampling cores and reservoir fluids from exploration and production wells, performing high-tech geophysical research in wells, carrying out seismic exploration work both on new licensed areas and within developed fields.
