The Increase In Oil Reserves In The Russian Federation In 2024 May Amount To 525 Million Tons
Gas reserves may reach 670 billion cubic meters, according to the forecast of the All-Russian Scientific Research Geological Petroleum Institute.
The increase in oil and condensate reserves based on the results of geological exploration in Russia in 2024 may amount to 525 million tons, and natural gas – 670 billion cubic meters. This forecast is contained in the presentation of the All-Russian Scientific Research Geological Petroleum Institute (VNIGNI), subordinate to Rosnedra.
The presentation was presented at a lecture on the quantitative assessment of the hydrocarbon resource base of the Russian Federation, organized by Rosgeologiya.
At the end of 2023, the increase in oil and condensate reserves, according to the State Reserves Commission, amounted to 550 million tons, gas – 705 billion cubic meters.
The VNIGNI presentation clarifies that 4,006 licenses for hydrocarbon raw materials were issued in Russia as of January 1, 2023. At the same time, licensed areas occupy only 34% of the area promising for identifying hydrocarbon deposits.
