The Largest Center for Studying Core and Formation Fluids Opened in Perm
Today in Perm the opening of the Core and Reservoir Fluids Research Center, built by the LUKOIL Company, took place. This is one of the priority projects in the region.
The new Center, part of LLC LUKOIL-Engineering (a subsidiary of PJSC LUKOIL), will provide high-precision scientific research for the search, exploration, development and enhanced oil recovery of fields in the Volga-Ural and Timan-Pechora oil and gas provinces, the Caspian and Baltic Seas, as well as the Group’s projects LUKOIL in other regions of presence.
The Center’s specialists have unique competencies in the field of laboratory study of cores from complex reservoir rocks, source rocks, weakly cemented cores, decarbonization and enhanced oil recovery methods. The scientific and laboratory complex, unique for Russia, is equipped with modern laboratory equipment, and its storage can accommodate more than 300 linear kilometers of core.
The center is located on the same site as the Perm National Research Polytechnic University and the scientific center “Rational Subsoil Use”. This will allow organizations to conduct joint research work, training courses and seminars for undergraduate and graduate students, and organize practical conferences based on a single scientific cluster.
