The MIEF-2013 Program Committee Invites to the Round Table “Energy Strategy of Russia”: Dogma or Changing Outlook?”
7 February 2013 in Moscow, in the framework of the preparation of XI Moscow International Energy Forum “Russian energy and fuel complex in the XXI century” will take place the round table in the format of an open meeting of the Program Committee of the MIEF-2013 with the participation of russian and foreign experts.
Leading russian scientists and experts in the field of energy policy, the economy, finance and forecasting will gather on February 7 on the round-table to discuss the prospects for the strategic leadership of Russia in the global energy industry.
Unprecedented rates of development of renewable energy and production of unconventional hydrocarbons, the impressive achievements of increase of efficiency of use of fuel and energy around the world, the rapid development of the new global markets of innovative energy and environmentally clean technologies – all these trends form the new structure of the global energy system. It is becoming more diversified, environmentally clean and high-tech. At the same time is rapidly changing the correlation of demand and supply on the global energy markets.
In the new situation in the global competition will win the country, which will be able to adapt promptly its energy strategy to long-term trends of the world’s scientific and technological development and integrate its energy sector into a qualitatively new global economic system.
“Energy strategy of Russia for the period up to 2030 of the year” conceptually based on the imperatives of industrial energy and raw material advantages, was created without taking into account the new trends, which now dominate and fundamentally changing the world’s energy map.
The round table will be held in the format of an open meeting of the Program Committee of the MIEF-2013. The purpose of the round table is to discuss the key issues and new quality of the world energy development and to formulate recommendations for the authorities and business to update the “Energy strategy of Russia”.
