  • The President of Turkmenistan Discussed Cooperation in the Fuel and Energy Sector with the Head of Dragon Oil

    Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil (UAE) Saeed Al Thayer. This was reported by the official newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan.

    According to the newspaper, during the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of building up a long-term successful partnership, taking into account the accumulated experience of joint work and Turkmenistan‘s plans for the development of the fuel and energy complex (FEC). Among the priorities of its development is to increase the volume of oil and gas production and refining, as well as the export of Turkmen energy carriers and finished oil and gas chemical products.

    Berdimuhamedov stressed that the oil and gas sector is one of the most dynamically developing sectors of the country’s economy, stated that there are good prospects for expanding traditional cooperation and the willingness of the Turkmen side to consider specific proposals from the company.

    The United Arab Emirates has extensive experience in the field of fuel and energy, the newspaper quoted the president as saying.

    The Head of State also noted the positive dynamics of cooperation in this area with leading UAE companies.

    The Dragon Oil Oil Company has been developing the Jeytun and Dzhigalybeg oil fields in Turkmenistan since May 2000. During this time, the company has invested $8 billion in projects.
