The ROGTEC Interview: Alexander Panteleev, Russian & CIS Representitive, TMG

What is your position in the company and how long have you been held this position?
I started working part time with TMG in 2010, primarily helping in the organization of the many trade shows that the company attends in Russia. After several months of close collaboration, I was rewarded for my hard work and given the full time position of Russian Representative.
How long have you been in business in Russia and the Caspian?
ROGTEC Magazine was established in 2004 and is now widely considered to be the leading upstream technology publication in the region. Although the primarily focused on Russia, ROGTEC also covers Caspian area with key focuses on Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to coincide with the major shows in these locations – the Caspian Oil and Gas exhibition and KIOGE respectively.
What companies have you worked with in the Region?
The nature of my work involves direct contact with oil producers and oilfield services companies and the many different advertisers for both of TMG’s Russian focused publications. One of my main roles is to ensure that all the readers of ROGTEC Magazine receive their copies of the magazine on time, every quarter. I also foster the already great working relationship between ROGTEC and the small, medium and large operating companies in Russia.
What is your most recent success in the market?
Recently I have been working on ensuring that the content of ROGTEC keeps getting better by ensuring the continued stream of technology article from the NOC´S and the leading science institutes. In terms of specific successes I would like to point out our recent work with TyumenNIIgiprogaz which is very promising. On top of this we have also attended more conferences and exhibitions this year than ever before and this is something that I am very proud of.
What is your favorite band and track?
I’m a fan of many styles and trends in modern music, but my favorite band is a group called Dead by April.
Where in the world would you most like to visit and why?
To be honest, I have a long list of places where I want to visit, but most important is people with whom I travel. Specifically however I would single out India. It seems like a magical place with a great blend of all kinds of activities. You can find perfect beaches in Goa, travel through jungles and practice yoga and find your true self at secluded retreats.
What is your favorite sport, and what team do you support?
I have always been fond of a variety of sports; however sports that are played and sports that are supported are often different. I have always been interested in biathlon, but have not had the opportunity to physically practice it. It is always great however to watch this sport on television and support Russian athletes.
What are your thoughts on the Russian oil and gas market through to the end of this year and beyond?
Having been to many conferences during the course of 2012, I think that companies are focusing on innovation and technology implementation. I believe this trend will continue in the future – oil and gas is getting harder find, produce and transport and technology plays a key role in ensuring this is done as cost effectively and efficiently as possible. I am personally very interested in the development of the Russian arctic. I think that all the recent activity in this area will soon pay off and the Arctic will become one the key areas for hydrocarbon exploration and production.
And of course – all of this will be covered right here in ROGTEC Magazine!
