  • The Russian Federation Has Discussed Oil and Gas Exploration and Production on the Continental Shelf of the Kingdom of Bahrain

The Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Bahrain have discussed the terms of Russian energy supplies to Bahrain, as well as the possibilities for joint cooperation in geological exploration and the production of oil and gason Bahrain’s continental shelf with the participation of Russian companies, according to an official statement released by the Government of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak held a meeting with Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, the Minister of Oil and Environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

“The agenda of the negotiations included the terms for the supply of Russian energy resources to Bahrain, as well as the prospects for joint work in oil and gas exploration and production on Bahrain’s shelf, with the involvement of Russian companies,” the statement from the Russian government reads.

The two sides also discussed cooperation under the framework of the OPEC+ agreement as a guarantee for maintaining stability and predictability in the global oil market, and agreed to further coordinate their efforts in this domain.

“The decisions made by the participating countries are aimed at balancing the oil market amid economic challenges,” the Russian government emphasized.

Deputy Prime Minister Novak also noted that September 2025 will mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

“Much has been accomplished during this time to expand trade and economic, financial and investment, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation. In the first three months of 2025, bilateral trade volume increased by 14.9% compared to the same period in 2024. One of the near-term objectives should be to elevate trade turnover between the two countries to a new level,” said Novak, as quoted by the official website of the Russian government.
