The Structural Division of Tatneft, the TatNIPIneft Institute, is 65 Years Old
The order on the establishment of the Tatar Oil Research Institute (TatNII) was signed on April 24, 1956 with the aim of creating in Tatarstan a research and design base for solving urgent problems of exploration, development and operation of oil fields. The scientists of the institute, together with the oilmen, developed major technical and production solutions that allowed the oilmen of the republic to reach the forefront of scientific and technological progress.
Today TatNIPIneft is one of the largest research centers in the oil industry in Russia. Over the period of the Institute’s existence, more than 2,800 developments have been created, protected by patents of the Russian Federation for inventions and utility models, as well as patents of a number of foreign countries. According to the results of scientific research, 89 collections of works, 233 monographs have been published, about 10,000 scientific articles have been published.
The Institute has significant scientific potential. Currently, the institute employs 15 doctors and 69 candidates of sciences.
The technologies developed at the institute are widely used not only in Tatarstan, but also in the Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Orenburg, Samara, Ulyanovsk regions, in Western Siberia, in the Republics of Bashkortostan, Komi, Kalmykia, Sakha (Yakutia), in a number of countries of the near and far abroad. The high professionalism of scientists and specialists has been repeatedly noted by domestic and foreign awards for achievements and contributions to the development of the oil industry.
Currently, the institute is involved in supporting the development of such unique and large fields as Romashkinskoye, Novo-Elkhovskoye and Bavlinskoye, which are the key assets of PJSC TATNEFT. In 2020, a project was launched in the direction of CO2 injection, with the aim of increasing oil recovery, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
