The TAGRAS Holding Division Plans to Introduce a New Source of Seismic Vibrations
At the request of Russian geophysicists, Belarusian colleagues manufactured a hydropneumatic source (HPS) to excite seismic vibrations. Two more copies of HPS-1 are on the way. The equipment was created at the production site of the Belgidravlika enterprise, part of the Niva holding.
Such a wave source is safe for humans and the environment; its advantage is its relatively low weight: it is several times lighter than the sources used today in seismic signal excitation installations.
“We hope that the advantages of the hydropneumatic source will be appreciated by subsoil users,” said Damir Shaikhutdinov, head of the production department of exploration geophysics at TNG-Group. “With its help, wider exploration on complex hydrogeological surfaces becomes possible. For example, in the tundra, replete with swamps”.
Already in February, the new products will be able to show themselves in action: the equipment will be sent to existing projects of the Holding’s division. The equipment will be installed on the Rusak amphibious all-terrain vehicle.
