The United States Seeks Access to Iran’s Oil Resources, Tehran Said
The United States seeks to gain access to Iran’s oil resources, said Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“As for what the goal of the United States is, there is no doubt — no one has ever doubted that the goal of the United States is to gain access to oil resources,” Baghaei said during a briefing, an excerpt of which was published by the SNN television channel.
The United States and Israel began strikes on February 28 on targets in Iran, including Tehran, with reports of destruction and civilian casualties. Iran has been carrying out retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory, as well as on US military facilities in the Middle East.
