The US Department of Energy Predicted an Increase in Oil Production in the Country in June
Oil production in the main oil and gas producing regions of the United States, in which a significant part of the production is shale oil, will rise in June compared to the current month by 41 thousand barrels per day, or 0.4%, to 9.332 million barrels, the Energy Information Administration predicts (EIA) Ministry of Energy of the country.
Including production in the Permian basin will rise by 15 thousand barrels per day, up to 5.707 million barrels per day, at Bakken – by 13 thousand, up to 1.232 million, at Anadarko – by 5 thousand, up to 444 thousand barrels per day. At the Niobrara field, production will also increase by 5,000 barrels, to 650,000 barrels per day.
Eagle Ford is expected to grow by 2,000 barrels to 1.108 million barrels, while Appalachia is expected to grow by 1,000 to 155,000 barrels per day. At the Haynesville field, production will not change and will amount to 36,000 barrels per day, the release says.
Also EIA expects in June the total increase in gas production at all these fields by 256 million cubic feet, to 97.239 billion cubic feet per day.
According to EIA data, the total number of wells in progress in the US area under consideration in April decreased by 42 compared to March, to 4863.
Drilled but uncompleted wells (DUC) are wells that have been drilled but not yet completed for production. A large DUC reserve could allow US producers to quickly and massively ramp up production as oil prices rise, regardless of the pace of drilling activity.
