  • Three Russian Companies Will Jointly Explore the Continental Shelf

Rosneft, Rosgeologiya and Innopraktika signed contracts on the sidelines of the SPIEF to conduct research work to study the Russian continental shelf, the oil company said.

“As part of the 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, PJSC NK Rosneft, the non-state development institute Innopraktika and JSC Rosgeo signed contracts to conduct research work to study the continental shelf of Russia,” Rosneft said in a statement.

Within the framework of the agreements, Rosgeo will carry out work on drilling shallow stratigraphic wells in the East Siberian Sea with the help of its domestic engineering and drilling vessel Bavenit.

“The purpose of the scientific expedition is to take core, a valuable stone material that serves as a direct source of geological information necessary to determine the age (stratification), composition and formation conditions of the rocks of the Eastern Arctic shelf and predict the state of the region’s oil and gas systems,” Rosneft notes.

Complex laboratory, analytical and cameral studies will be carried out by Innopraktika on the basis of the Faculty of Geology of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, the oil company adds.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is taking place on June 14-17. RIA Novosti is the media partner and host photo agency of the forum.
