TMK and Gazprom Signed a Scientific and Technical Cooperation Program for 2021-2025
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) and PJSC Gazprom signed on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (PMGF-2021) a comprehensive program of scientific and technical cooperation for 2021 – 2025. The program is designed to meet the needs of Gazprom for innovative pipe products and involves joint work on the creation of high-tech pipe solutions, the development of service products, research and cooperation in other areas.
The document was signed by First Deputy General Director of TMK for Operations and Development Sergey Chikalov and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board – Head of Department of Gazprom PJSC Oleg Aksyutin.
Work within the framework of the program will be carried out in two main areas: the creation of new types of pipe products – large-diameter pipes and seamless pipes, including for offshore projects, as well as exchange of experience, research, service and prospecting work in the fields. Gazprom will identify the main scientific and technical challenges in the construction and operation of trunk gas pipelines and other facilities, and TMK will carry out relevant innovative research, development and technological work.
“Today, the Russian fuel and energy complex faces new technological challenges. Gazprom is responding to them jointly with partners from core industries – we design and implement innovative products for the development of fields that were previously considered difficult to access. At the same time, we are actively replacing imported solutions and give preference to the use of advanced domestic technologies to strengthen the country’s energy security. The new program of cooperation with TMK will promote the development of such products, increase the efficiency of construction and operation of facilities for the extraction, transportation and processing of natural gas, while ensuring the safety and compliance of new equipment with the highest technical requirements, ”said Oleg Aksyutin.
