TMK and Sinara Group Took Part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) and Sinara Group took part in the business program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2021). The heads of the companies discussed at the forum the prospects for the development of the metallurgical and machine-building industries, international cooperation, the transition to a “green” economy and HR- and ESG- strategies, held negotiations with partners from the industrial, financial industries and representatives of regional authorities.
The forum announced an agreement between TMK and Rosneft on the supply of metal products for the Vostok Oil project. The corresponding agreement was signed between LLC Vostok Oil (a company of the PJSC NK Rosneft Group) and LLC Sinarastroykomplekt (a subsidiary of JSC Sinara Group).
Sinara Group signed a number of documents on financing and implementation of large projects for the development of transport infrastructure. Cooperation agreements were signed with Otkritie Bank and Sberbank, agreements of intent with Russian Railways and RUSNANO, a separate agreement with RUSNANO to create a private equity fund TECHNOMOTION FUND, an agreement to finance the Taganrog tram network modernization project with the state corporation VEB. RF. A memorandum was also signed with Siemens Mobility on the establishment of a joint venture to provide rolling stock maintenance services and a cooperation agreement with the government of the Rostov region.
During SPIEF 2021, Dmitry Pumpyansky, Chairman of the TMK Board of Directors, President of the Sinara Group, took part in a discussion on the topic “System-Forming Industries: Investment Attractiveness and Export Potential”. At the event, he suggested that the government officials present at the meeting should expand the planning horizon for investment programs of state-owned companies, as well as stimulate the development of the export of high-tech products. He also shared his experience of interaction between TMK and Sinara Group with German companies during a session dedicated to cooperation between Russia and Germany.
In turn, TMK CEO Igor Korytko spoke at the sessions “ESG-transformation of corporate strategies. How the Pandemic Spurred the Transition to Sustainable Development ”and“ New Challenges to the Green Economy. Can the crisis slow down the inevitable? ”, Where he spoke about the company’s practices in the field of environmental and social policy. During a speech at the session “Corporations and Employees: How to Manage Human Capital in a Post-Image World?” Igor Korytko presented the experience of organizing the company’s work in a pandemic, and also discussed the advantages and limitations of telecommuting.
Also at SPIEF-2021, working meetings were held between the management of TMK and the Sinara Group with the leaders of a number of Russian regions, large energy and machine-building companies in Russia and abroad, representatives of the Russian and international banking and insurance business and other forum participants.
