  • TMK Celebrates 20 Years at the Peak of High Technology

    Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) celebrated the 20th anniversary of its foundation on April 17, 2021. In honor of the anniversary, TMK’s regions of presence hosted ceremonial meetings with the participation of company and regional management, corporate events for employees of the enterprises and environmental campaigns.

    TMK was founded in 2001. In 2002, it included Volzhsky (VTZ), Seversky (STZ) and Sinarsky (Sinarsky) pipe plants, and in 2004 the Taganrog Metallurgical Plant (TAGMET) joined them – they formed the basis of the Russian division of the company. Later, other Russian enterprises became part of TMK, in particular, the Orsk Machine-Building Plant (OMZ), assets in Romania and Kazakhstan, two large research centers – the Russian Research Institute of the Pipe Industry (RusNITI) in Chelyabinsk and the Scientific and Technical Center (STC) at Skolkovo. In 2020 – 2021, TMK acquired the Yartsevsky Metallurgical Plant (YaMZ), Rakityansky Valve (Raz), Pervouralsky Novotrubny (PNTZ) and Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling (ChTPZ) plants.

    Over 20 years, TMK has achieved the status of the world’s largest producer of steel pipes, has become a leading global supplier of innovative pipe solutions for oil and gas production, one of the industry leaders in technological equipment and environmental friendliness of production, as well as a responsible social partner of the Russian regions.

    “Our renewed enterprises have become models of technological equipment, and on the basis of their colossal experience and the potential of TMK as a whole, we have prepared the ground for an innovative breakthrough. We have created one of the world’s best industrial research facilities, joined forces with consumers and became the country’s leading suppliers of the most advanced pipe solutions for the oil and gas sector, completely replacing foreign suppliers. TMK has approached its 20th anniversary as a successful high-tech company recognized as the leader in the global pipe market, ”said Dmitry Pumpyansky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TMK.

    “During these two decades, we have come a long way to production and scientific victories. A large-scale modernization of production facilities has been carried out, in fact, entire factories have been rebuilt. The most powerful scientific and technical potential has been created, which allows us to develop new products, set new trends and be the undisputed leader in the field of premium products in Russia and in the world, ”said Igor Korytko, General Director of TMK.

    In honor of the 20th anniversary of TMK, in the cities where the company operates – Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Taganrog, Orsk, Volzhsky, Polevskoy, Kamensk-Uralsky and other venues – solemn events were held at which the heads of TMK, its enterprises and representatives of city and regional authorities presented to employees companies corporate, municipal and industry awards.

    On the eve of the holiday, sports and intellectual competitions, creative contests, cultural events and other activities were organized for collectives. Environmental campaigns, which are regularly held by the company’s enterprises, were timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of TMK. So, in Taganrog, TAGMET employees took part in a city clean-up work on the territory improvement, in Volzhsky, VTZ employees planted trees, at Polevskoy, the STZ team took part in an action on separate waste collection within the framework of the All-Russian clean-up work.
