TMK Creates ESG Values for Employees through Educational and Social Tools
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) is actively involved in the formation of employees sustainable development values – the ESG ( E nvironmental, the S ocial, the G overnance) – and contributes to the creation of this culture, including through educational programs Corporate University TMK2U and holding social events. This was announced by Elena Pozolotina, Deputy General Director of TMK for HR Management – Director of TMK2U, at the INNOPROM-2021 International Industrial Exhibition.
During the discussion on the topic “Educational solutions for industry. What business competencies are needed in ESG? ” Elena Pozolotina noted that adherence to the sustainable development agenda is not so much a matter of competencies as the level of values. The formation of such values proceeds in two directions: at the state level, including within the framework of educational programs, and at the business level.
“The challenge for corporations is to demonstrate commitment to ESG values through simple examples and sustainable manufacturing practices. We must timely implement the best available technologies, adopt best practices and scale them to our enterprises, involving our employees in this process. Another effective tool for the formation of ESG culture are corporate universities, which help to develop relevant competencies, including through courses in ecology, labor protection and industrial safety, and other disciplines. In the pool of TMK2U educational products, more than 70 programs belong to the sustainable development agenda, ”said Elena Pozolotina.
She noted that the business also draws the attention of staff to topics of sustainable development through social and environmental promotions. For example, TMK enterprises are engaged in tree planting, develop a volunteer movement, and are currently conducting vaccination campaigns.
“If a corporation cares about uniform standards and the values adopted in the company are common for the organization, then they will spread in all regions of presence. At TMK, all enterprises carry out the same educational programs, apply uniform approaches to the social agenda, including charitable programs and campaigns. Thus, enterprises in all regions are developing in a single ESG space. This is the task of large companies – to scale the topic of sustainable development across the entire geography of their presence, ”noted Elena Pozolotina.
