  • TMK: Hosted a Meeting of PJSC Gazprom on Innovations in the Pipe Industry

The Scientific and Technical Center (STC) of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) in Skolkovo became the venue for a meeting of PJSC Gazprom on the application of innovative solutions in the production of pipe products. The participants of the meeting discussed promising areas of cooperation between Gazprom and companies in the pipe industry, issues of partnership and effective cooperation.

The event was attended by representatives of Gazprom’s specialized divisions and subsidiaries of the company, TMK, the United Metallurgical Company (OMK), Severstal and the Zagorsk Pipe Plant (ZTZ).

Pipe companies presented their developments for Gazprom’s promising projects. The meeting participants also discussed topical issues of interaction.

TMK presented to the meeting participants the capabilities of its Science and Technology Center, which implements a full cycle of innovative tubular product development, from research and selection of materials to the production of prototypes and their full-scale testing on the only stands in the country where tests are carried out according to international standards.

“To a large extent, thanks to close cooperation with Gazprom, domestic pipe companies have accumulated great technological experience. Today we face new ambitious tasks. I am confident that the joint discussion of topical issues will contribute to the speedy launch of new innovative products needed to strengthen the potential of the Russian gas industry,” said Oleg Aksyutin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Head of the Department of PJSC Gazprom.

“Innovative cooperation between TMK and PJSC Gazprom has been going on for more than 15 years and is one of the drivers of a technological breakthrough in the domestic pipe industry. Thanks to the challenges that our partners set for us, we create high-tech pipe solutions that work on the most complex gas production projects: these are pipes of high strength groups made of corrosion-resistant steels and alloys with premium threaded connections, heat-insulated pipes and other advanced developments. At the same time, we are constantly interacting with clients to identify new vectors for joint work within the framework of a comprehensive program of scientific and technical cooperation. Today, TMK is presenting to Gazprom a new generation of laser-welded pipes, smart solutions for improving the reliability of main gas pipelines.
