TMK Hosts the 16th International Congress of Steel Smelters and Metal Producers at PNTZ
The Association of Steel Smelters together with the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) is holding the 16th International Congress of Steel Smelters and Metal Producers – ISCON 2021. The event takes place from May 24 to 28 in Yekaterinburg with a visit to the Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ), which is part of TMK.
The congress was organized with the participation of the Scientific Council on Metallurgy and Metallurgy of the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the State Scientific Center of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom JSC NPO TsNIITMASH. The event is attended by over 300 delegates from Russia, Germany, Italy and other countries: representatives of metallurgical enterprises, research and design institutes, as well as the academic community.
The main objectives of the congress are the exchange of experience, the development of international cooperation between metal producers and consumers, the popularization of scientific and technical achievements in the field of steelmaking, the search for new approaches to improving the qualifications of industry specialists.
The congress participants will discuss topical issues of the development of the metallurgical industry. As part of the event, round tables and breakout sessions will be held on the topics “Steel production and special electrometallurgy”, “Energy efficiency, resource conservation, ecology and recycling”, “Industry 4.0 – creating a digital enterprise” and others. Representatives of TMK, in particular, will discuss with their colleagues technological solutions for increasing the production of continuously cast billets, as well as the use of ferroalloys in steelmaking.
During the event, delegates will also visit the main production sites of PNTZ, including the electric steelmaking shop (ESPC) of the enterprise, which is one of the most modern steelmaking complexes in Russia and the world, which produces pipe billets from 82 steel grades and their modifications for TMK enterprises, as well as Russian and foreign clients of the company.
