  • TMK-Kaztrubprom Mastered Cutting a New Premium Threaded Connection

A subsidiary of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) in Kazakhstan, TMK-Kaztrubprom, has mastered the cutting of a new premium threaded connection on tubing.

The enterprise has successfully made an experimental cutting of a T100 threaded coupling on pipes of 88.9×6.45 mm and 114.3×6.88 mm, strength group N80Q. This connection, with the patented Cone-Cone Sealing Assembly profile, serves to maintain the structural strength of the pipe string under tensile loads.

TMK-Kaztrubprom has mastered a new type of product together with specialists from TMK’s specialized engineering division – TMK-Premium Service, as well as the Pervouralsk Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ), which is part of the company. TMK-Premium Service developed and implemented a machining program at the enterprise, and PNTZ specialists trained personnel in methods of controlling the geometric parameters of a threaded connection.

“Close cooperation between TMK enterprises is one of the key advantages of the company. Interaction between factories helps to efficiently distribute the load between sites and contributes to technological development. Thanks to the joint efforts of the two enterprises and the TMK engineering center, we were able to quickly master the production of a new type of premium products and are already ready for deliveries, ”said Vladimir Kolesnikov, General Director of TMK-Kaztrubprom.
