TMK Ranked Among Top Five Leaders in Scientific and Technological Development Rating
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has entered the TOP 5 of the first scientific and technological development ranking of Russia’s largest companies, compiled by AK&M. According to the expert assessment results, TMK scored 8.82 points out of 10 and ranked fourth in the study, confirming the highest level of scientific and technological development.
The ranking evaluates the scientific and technological activities of corporations and aims to draw attention to their contribution to the country’s innovative development. It is based on two groups of indicators: quantitative indicators reflecting the volume of scientific and technological activity, and qualitative indicators characterizing the organization of the scientific and technological process. The key criterion was the volume of expenditures on research and development (R&D). The dynamics of investments in scientific development and the number of patents obtained by the company relative to revenue were also taken into account.
TMK received high scores across the ranking criteria. The company’s research centers develop and test new materials, pipe production and processing technologies, and carry out pilot and experimental work to create innovative pipe products and modernize equipment. The company’s testing centers and laboratories conduct research on metal properties and anti-corrosion coatings, provide technological support for production, and participate in the development of new product types.
“Research and development activities are one of TMK’s priority areas. Consistent investments in R&D and the development of scientific infrastructure enable us to create technological solutions that meet, and sometimes even anticipate, market and industry requirements. Our high position in the ranking confirms the effectiveness of the chosen scientific and technological development strategy,” said Igor Pyshmintsev, TMK Director for Research.
The ranking of scientific and technological development of Russian companies was compiled by AK&M for the first time. The list of participants was formed from the 300 largest companies in Russia by revenue. Of these, 42 companies from various industries were included in the final ranking.
