TMK Supported a Career Guidance Forum for Young IT Specialists
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) became a partner of the largest digital student forum in the Urals, “Peak IT.”The event was held at the venue of Ural Federal University (UrFU), bringing together more than 2,000 future specialists and leading employers of the region.
TMK’s participation was organized by the TMK2U Corporate University and the corporate IT cluster TMK++. Company representatives helped participants navigate their professional paths, spoke about the development of digital направления within TMK, the most in-demand competencies in industry, and how to build a career in the world of big data. Visitors to the TMK stand used a chatbot to solve puzzles and unconventional tasks, and on a training simulator using virtual reality technology, they tried themselves in the role of quality control inspectors, checking the parameters of threaded connections.
Alexey Ostrovsky, Head of the Virtual and Augmented Reality Competence Group at the TMK++ Digital Technology Center, conducted a master class for students, demonstrating how game mechanics can help solve serious industrial challenges and how game design skills are becoming an important advantage in industry. Today, training simulators using augmented and virtual reality technologies are applied in pipe production for personnel training, while digital twins make it possible to model any processes, and simulators improve workplace safety.
“For us, cooperation with UrFU is not a one-time initiative but part of TMK’s systematic strategy for developing young talent. It is important for the company to find not just people with technical skills, but passionate young specialists who are interested in creating real digital products for industry. ‘Peak IT’ gives us a unique opportunity to see this enthusiasm and help talented young people take their first steps in their careers,” noted Elena Pozolotina, Deputy General Director for Human Resources at TMK.
During the event, company representatives collected more than 750 applications from students and young professionals. The most motivated participants will have the opportunity to undertake internships in the future and potentially become part of the TMK++ team.
