  • TMK Took Part in an Environmental Campaign as Part of the All-Russian Subbotnik

The Seversky Pipe Plant (STZ), part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), took part in a regional environmental campaign timed to coincide with the All-Russian Subbotnik. The event, organized jointly with the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation, took place in the town of Polevskoy and coincided with the celebration of TMK’s 20th anniversary.

More than 170 employees of STZ and students of the Polevsky multidisciplinary technical school, the forge of the plant’s personnel, took part in the cleanup. Since in 2021 the All-Russian Subbotnik will be held simultaneously with the Clean Games project, an ecological competition for waste collection and sorting, the event in Polevskoy was also dedicated to the separate collection of waste. During the action, the plant workers collected and removed from the central street of the city about three tons of garbage.

“TMK enterprises are always at the forefront of environmental initiatives. We are consistently improving the environment in the regions where we operate: we are introducing the best available technologies, increasing the share of recycled water supply, increasing energy efficiency, reclaiming waste (selective waste collection has been operating at the plant for several years) and supporting regional environmental activities. The STZ staff at least three times a year participates in subbotniks, which have been held in Polevskoy for several decades, ”said Mikhail Zuev, managing director of STZ.

The All-Russian Subbotnik will take place in all regions of the country on April 24 and will be dedicated to the theme of the urban environment and environmentally friendly behavior.
