  • TNK-BP Expands Its In-House Training Program to Cover 17,500 Employees in 2012

TNK-BP informs that in 2012 it expanded its in-house training program aimed at efficiency improvement in the Company’s core activities, increasing the number of participants up to 17,500.

The Company launched the in-house training program in all the TNK-BP Group companies in 2009 by establishing its unparalleled in-house trainers institute. Since the program start, the annual number of participants doubled and the number of trainers increased 4.5 times to reach 402 people. TNK-BP invested about $600,000 in the establishment of the in-house training system, which includes intramural trainings as well as webinars and distance learning modules for people working in remote locations. The program helped to reduce the costs related to external training providers’ services by 80%.

In 2012, the Company started to engage top managers as trainers – Mikhail Slobodin, Executive Vice President, Strategy and New Business Development; Elena Kompasenko, Vice President, Health, Safety and Environment; Eric Liron, Vice President, Wells; Robert Allan, Vice President, Exploration; and Johan Van Scherpenzeel, Vice President, Operations, delivered their proprietary classes.

“The evolution of the in-house trainers institution helps us use our internal resources efficiently to relay the Company’s unique skills and experience taking into account the specific features of all production areas. This makes training times more efficient and targeted,” said Andrey Yanovsky, Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Development.
