TNK-BP Will Invest $16 Million in Development of the Tyumen Petroleum Research Centre

TNK-BP will invest $16 million in development of Tyumen Petroleum Research Center (TNNC). The money will be spent on TNNC geological studies program.

TNNC accumulates all data bases on geology and specifics of the Group fields development. It also develops geological and reservoir models as a basis for exploration and drilling. This year the Company will pay special attention to development of TNNC laboratory complex for storage and analysis of geological formation and fluid samples (oil, gas, condensate).

Oleg Chemezov, Branch Director, TNK-BP Siberia, TNK-BP Management, underlines: “TNNC plays a more role in turning TNK-BP into technological leader of oil and gas industry. As the volume of exploration and the share of challenge reserves increases, so does the need for conducting detailed geological studies to select the best field development technology”.
