  • Top Oil and Gas Industry Professionals to Highlight Digital Transformation at CTCE 2019

Senior executives and technical experts from the Caspian oil and gas industry will discuss the benefits of digital trends and latest technologies at the region’s leading technical conference this autumn. The SPE Annual Caspian Technical Conference, now in its sixth year, will return to Baku, Azerbaijan on the 16-18 October.

Digital transformation in upstream oil and gas is already well under way, as companies seek to identify the technologies that will bring added value to their enterprises. Volatile commodity prices means that companies need to go on a digital technology ‘shopping spree’ to either find more oil and gas, or retrieve it at a lower cost.

This year’s conference will focus on the various ways the oil and gas industry is using digital technology and how we expect it to be used in the future. Three keynote panel sessions to be explored include:

Past, Present, and Future; Sustainability, Growth and Profit; and New Generation Talent and Human Factors.

High profile panellists will share their experience on these topics including:

    • Denis Lemarchal, Managing Director, Total E&P Azerbaijan
    • Shauna Noonan, Director of Artificial Lift Engineering, Occidental Petroleum
      (2020 SPE President)
    • Gokhan Saygi, President of Russia & Central Asia, Schlumberger
    • Ramin Isayev, General Director, SOCAR AQS
    • Thierry Debertrand, Vice President E&P Operations, Total
    • Yashar Latifov, Vice President for Field Development, SOCAR
    • Mikhail Krasik, JV & Development Director, TOTAL E&P Absheron
    • Zaur Mammadov, Chief of Staff, Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan
    • Niall Henderson, Head of Planning and Commercial Operations, BP

Hosted by SOCAR, the Caspian region’s leading oil and gas company, this is the perfect opportunity to discover the latest technologies, products, and solutions from the key players in the industry.

“SOCAR has been heavily involved with this unique and inclusive event where the whole Azeri upstream technical oil & gas community can meet, exchange technological ideas with an ever growing international list of attendees.” Koshbaxt Yusifzade, First Vice President of SOCAR

Along with Socar, the event has the support of other prominent oil and gas leaders in the Caspian including; BP as Platinum Sponsor, Socar AQS as Silver Sponsor, and Bronze Sponsors Total, TCO and Worley. Other sponsors include Equinor, Baker Hughes a GE company, Schlumberger, Halliburton, DeGolyer and MacNaughton, and Caspian Geophysical.

SPE will be continuing down the road of a collaborative approach with other oil and gas associations and is being supported by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Azərbaycan Neftçi Geoloqları Cəmiyyəti (ANGC), EAGE Azerbaijan, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and the Azerbaijan National Geophysics Committee (AMGK).

Attendees will be able to attend a variety of networking events that will provide the opportunity to share experiences with peers, build new professional relationships and strengthen existing ones.
