  • TNNC Creates Digital Core Research Technologies

Specialists of the Tyumen Oil Research Center (part of the research and design unit of Rosneft), together with the non-state development institute Innopraktika, continue to work on the creation of digital core research technologies. The corporate software complex “RN-Digital Core” is designed to study the properties of rocks through mathematical modeling of processes at the pore level.

The new version of the software product is focused on the study of phase permeability, methods of enhanced oil recovery and the study of the properties and mineral composition of low-permeability rocks. The program will directly, using a digital model, calculate the phase permeability – the nature of the joint flow of oil, gas and water. Such information is practically impossible to obtain in the course of physical experiments in laboratory conditions.

“The creation of software modules for modeling oil displacement with aqueous solutions of surfactants and polymers will enable specialists to substantiate methods for enhanced oil recovery at a new level,” explained Sergey Stepanov, developer.

The development of the software package provides for its integration into the line of corporate software, which will ensure its widespread use in Rosneft Oil Company PJSC.
