  • TotalEnergies Will Resume Production At The Tyra Field Off The Coast Of Denmark

TotalEnergies is resuming production at the Tyra field off the coast of Denmark after its large-scale reconstruction, which will make the kingdom a net exporter of natural gas, follows from a press release from the French company.

“Total Energies announces the resumption of production at the Tyra field in the Danish sector of the North Sea following the completion of a major reconstruction project,” TotalEnergies said in a statement.

Also, according to the company, production volumes will reach 5.7 million cubic meters of gas, as well as 22 thousand barrels of condensate per day, which will make Denmark a net exporter of natural gas. TotalEnergies is producing gas from the Tyra field on behalf of the Danish Underground Consortium, which includes TotalEnergies (43.2%), BlueNord (36.8%) and Nordsøfonden (20%). In September 2019, production at the Tyra field was suspended in order to carry out its reconstruction, according to a TotalEnergies press release.

The Tyra field, located 225 kilometers west of the city of Esbjerg, was discovered in 1968 by Maersk Oil.

TotalEnergies is one of the largest energy companies in the world. Operating in more than 130 countries, it produces oil and gas in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Americas. The company’s staff exceeds 100 thousand people.
