TPU Will Create Technologies for the Production of Hard-to-Recover Oil
Today, at the site of the X International Technoprom Forum for Technological Development, Tomsk Polytechnic University signed an agreement on joint research and development of technology for the production of hard-to-recover oil.
The university joined the consortium “Synchrotron Radiation in Oil and Gas Technologies” together with the Center for Collective Use “Siberian Ring Photon Source” and a number of other educational and scientific organizations of the country.
– Together, the parties will work on the organization and conduct of research and development work, as well as educational programs and training, – said the Tomsk Polytechnic University.
The consortium members plan to create and implement new technologies to increase the intensity of oil production, including the one that belongs to the category of hard-to-recover.
“- Tomsk Polytechnic University has extensive experience in X-ray engineering, control of synchrotron and pulsed beams. In the interests of partner companies, university scientists create detectors and protocols for them that allow you to study the processes occurring in the core. And in the SKIF project, the polytechnics, together with partners, are creating stations – “Microfocus” and “Electronic Structure” – and create restrictive structures (hatches) for other stations. In the projects of the consortium, university scientists will work on the development of new protocols, verification of models and increase in scanning speed. I am sure we have something to share with colleagues. ” – Leonid Sukhikh, Acting Rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University.
