  • Turkish Military Will Look after Exploration in Somalia

    Earlier, the Ministry of Energy of Turkey announced that already this year the country will begin exploration off the Somali coast.

    Work will be carried out as part of an agreement on cooperation in the field of energy between the two countries.

    Turkey has long been cooperating with the Federal Republic of Somalia back in 2017 by Ankara created one of its largest naval bases in Mogadish, and in recent years has invested in the development of social infrastructure Somalia.

    Oil reserves in Somalia are estimated at 30 billion barrels, the American company Coastline Exploration has already begun work here.

    It is expected that the first Somali oil will be extracted this year.
