  • Tyumen Oilfield Services Announced a Shortage of Personnel

Companies poach workers by raising wages

Oilfield service companies in the Tyumen region are forced to lure workers from each other due to an acute shortage of personnel. As Alexey Permyakov, First Deputy Director of HMS Neftemash JSC, said, the shortage is currently estimated at 10-15%.

“The problem is at the initial stage: our youth do not go to study. Today we will face you with the fact that tomorrow or the day after tomorrow everyone will be “beautiful”. But this is impossible. Everything is forged with strength and labour. Well, why send a guy-girl today to study physics if they don’t have a predisposition for this, when there are working specialties. At the factories today it is precisely the shortage of personnel. We have about 10-15%. There is fierce competition between companies. So it turns out, we live in the same list of employees who simply run across the ruble from shop to shop,” said Permyakov.

At the same time, the top manager of the enterprise emphasizes, the situation is aggravated by the shortage of personnel in the construction sector. Salaries in this area are significantly higher, which further complicates attempts to stop the shortage of personnel by oilfield services.

It should be noted that the governor of the Tyumen region Alexander Moor also announced the shortage of personnel today. During a press conference, the head of the region said that the solution to this issue for the subject could be the restructuring of the system of secondary vocational education, as well as the formation in society of the right attitude towards working specialties.
