  • Tyumenneftegaz: Reduced the Well Drilling Cycle

The Tyumenneftegaz company, which is part of the oil and gas production unit of NK Rosneft, reduced the drilling cycle of production multilateral wells to 20.9 days in 2021. This is 11.6% less than a year earlier. The economic effect from the reduction in drilling time amounted to more than 7 million rubles from each well. This year, the company plans to drill 88 wells and annually increase their number by an average of 20%.

The drilling cycle was shortened thanks to the use of high-tech equipment for directional drilling, the construction of multilateral wells, as well as new engineering solutions.

In 2021, a multilateral well was built at the Russkoye field with three casing strings of the Fishbone design, with a total length of the horizontal section of 1238 meters. More than 80 multilateral wells have been drilled since the beginning of the development of the Russkoye field. This design allows you to maximize the coverage of the oil-saturated reservoir and increase the flow rate of the well.
