Vallourec Hosts Technology Conference with Hardbanding Solutions
Vallourec Group, a world leader in manufacturing of seamless steel tubes, together with a company Hardbanding Solutions, a hardbanding wire manufacturer, organized the Technical Conference on the 24th of October 2013 in Moscow.
Vallourec covered their history, activity on the market and strategy with views and analysis from Andreas Kauschke and Alfiya Nasyrova. Alfiya said, ‘We appreciate the interest of our Russian clients to our Conference and would be glad to provide the Russian market with western premium products & solutions to meet the existing and future drilling challenges’.
Artem Sitnikov presented VAM family connections for casing& tubing, including the high-end Cleanwell Dry Solution. CLEANWELL® DRY is an anti-corrosion and lubricating coating applied in the mill on the surface of VAM® threads. Developed for Carbon steel, Sour Service materials, CLEANWELL® DRY is designed to be used without thread compounds to prevent the damage of environment, contamination of downhole equipment and producing formation.
Philippe Machecourt discussed Vallourec’s full range of premium drill-string products from the rig floor to the BHA and the technical and economical advantages of equipment standardization inside the organization.
Alexey Vakhrushev looked at the latest generation of drill pipe thread connections VAM Express, as well as the latest product developments of Vallourec Drilling Products (former VAM Drilling) including RFID, new steel grades, shale gas drill string and the Hydroclean MAX solution. All the presentations included practical advice on field implementation and field optimization in Russia.
Alexey commented: ‘This is the first time we organize a Technical conference. We did our best to make it useful for our clients. We shared a lot of technical information which seemed to be interesting to companies working for Oil & Gas industry. I think the event is a success.’
Eddie Hogland, from VAM Field Service International, showed practical examples of technical support in the field provided to end-users of Vallourec premium products in Russia and former CIS countries.
Hardbanding Solutions, a Postle Industries Company, represented by Colin Duff, discussed how to increase the run life of drill pipe and casing through the application of Duraband hardbanding. He also covered how technical support is being offered throughout Russia as the industry increases its use of casing friendly hardbanding.
Colin said ‘The conference was a fantastic opportunity for us to share our experience on Hardbanding in Russia, as well as advise on the factors which should be considered while selecting which product to apply. We were delighted with the turnout and the discussion which followed was very valuable for all involved.’
About 30 drilling Technical experts from the O&G companies and drilling contractors took part in the conference. The representatives of Gazprom, Lukoil, Gazprom Neft Shelf, Surgutneftegas, ZAO Investgeoservice, ERIELL,Tatneft, Gazprom Burenie, ENI, Total, Bashneft, Gazprom VNIIGAZ and Weatherford were present.
