Repair of an Oil Well with a Pipe Hanger Can be Accelerated
Tatneft is implementing methods that make it possible to reduce the cost and increase the efficiency of well repair through new technologies and reduce the duration of workover without loss of quality. So, a year ago, in some wells, in order to fix the sucker rod pump from bilateral axial movements and increase the productivity of sucker rod pumps, the introduction of new equipment – anchors-pipe holders began.
It fixes the SRP from bilateral axial movements relative to the production string. In this way, sucker rods can be protected from abrasion and breakage. In addition, the productivity of the SRP increases.
Anchor pipe holder is installed below the pump. But for its installation, additional work is required – the development of the production string with a scraper and its gauge. This means that it is necessary to perform tripping operations of the entire layout. The implemented equipment has shown its high efficiency. At the same time, the duration of well repair has increased – up to 90 hours.
Therefore, Tatneft decided to exclude these operations at some wells. Among the criteria is the absence of well curvature and other complicating factors. Also, the wells should work for no more than three years after the gauge of the EC to the landing site of the anchor-pipe holder.
In the company, the success of repairs using the new method has been confirmed in practice. This approach has reduced their duration from 90 to 74.2 hours.
