Rosneft Develops Technologies for Drilling and Well Development

RN-Yuganskneftegaz, a key production asset of the Company, held an annual specialized technological forum to consolidate best practices in the implementation of innovative drilling and well development technologies.

This year, the event brought together representatives of Rosneft’s subsidiaries and leading service companies in the country. Specialists shared new technological solutions and the results of pilot industrial tests.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz, as an industry leader in key drilling performance indicators, continuously improves its operational approaches. Among the most effective solutions are logging while drilling in directional wells, running casing strings with rotation, and running liners on tubing. These measures reduce well construction time and minimize operational risks.

The company has developed and implemented 118 drill bit design configurations. These designs are regularly updated to meet geological and technical conditions, enabling high rates of penetration.

Another project presented is torque-enhancing rings — elements of technical equipment that improve the ability of casing strings to withstand high torsional loads during drilling, increasing reliability in complex conditions.

Following a detailed review of the presented innovations, the best practices will be recommended for implementation and replication across the Company’s assets.
