The Economic Effect from the Implementation of Innovations at Verkhnechonskneftegaz in 2025 Exceeded 1 Billion Roubles
Verkhnechonskneftegaz (part of Rosneft) achieved an economic effect of more than 1 billion roubles in 2025 through the implementation of a production efficiency improvement programme. Proposals from the company’s specialists were introduced into the operation of pumping equipment, electrical equipment, casing and production strings, logging systems, as well as in the construction of well pads.
Among the successfully implemented projects is the application of an advanced geophysical research method to identify productive formations at the Verkhnechonskoye oil and gas condensate field. The method makes it possible to more accurately distinguish sandstones and gravelites from clays. This makes it possible to more quickly adjust the drilling rate. The economic effect in 2025 from the implementation of this innovation amounted to 84 million roubles.
A project was also implemented to change the well pad foundation scheme during its expansion for infill drilling. In the new configuration, the drilling rig is dismantled at the location of the last drilled well. This approach reduced the volume of filling and construction work, optimising costs by 117.5 million roubles.
Another project is aimed at reducing the time required for well repairs with multistage hydraulic fracturing through the use of an additional rotary valve in combination with a selective packer. After hydraulic fracturing, the valve is activated and isolates the annulus from excess pressure, making it possible to begin lifting the assembly to the next coupling. The economic effect from the implementation of this project exceeds 27 million roubles.
Improving production efficiency is one of the key elements of the Rosneft–2030 strategy. The company is implementing a programme aimed at reducing operating and capital expenditures, including through the introduction of advanced technological solutions.
