The 9th Russian Petroleum Gas Congress (RPGC) will take place this year on 21-23 June at Expocentre in Russia. The Congress is co-located with the 11th biennial Moscow International Oil & Gas Exhibition (MIOGE) which takes place at the same venue on 21-24 June.
The RPGC programme this year will feature a number of distinguished speakers. The opening address will be given by Sergey Shmatko, Minister of the Russian Ministry of Energy, followed by keynote presentations from Sergey Kudriashov, Deputy Minister of Energy and Fernando M. Valenzuela, Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the EU to Russia, who will speak from a European perspective. Ahmad Ghalebani, Deputy Minister of Petroleum, Ministry of Petroleum of Iran and Yevgeniy Bakulin, Chairman of the Board, Naftogaz of Ukraine, will speak about international cooperation initiatives with the Russian oil and gas sector. Nordine Cherouati, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sonatrach will present on strategic cooperation between Algeria and Russia.
New programme topics include ‘Oil products trade in Russia: internal and external markets’ as part of the Special Focus Session hosted by the Cortez Information and Analytical Center on the second day. Director General, Dr. Pierce Riemer of the World Petroleum Council will chair the Special Focus Session on ‘The role and future of conventionals in the petroleum sector’ on the final day.
For the first time at the Congress, there will be an Expert Discussion session, which aims to develop strategies for adoption by global oil and gas industry, and the role of alliances between countries, state organizations and oil companies. Igor Vittel, Host of the ‘In Focus’ TV Show for RBC TV will moderate the session on first day of the Congress.
The second Russian-Iranian Oil&Gas Conference will take place on day 2 of the Congress. Mahmoud Reza Sajadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia leads the panel of speakers who will discuss the challenges and opportunities for cooperation between the Russia and Iran, and the prospect of supply and transport partnerships.
