Emergency Logistics from China in 5 Days: How a Hydraulic Fracturing Operation Was Saved and Multimillion Losses Avoided

During the implementation of the Kondaneft project, a sudden failure occurred in a key component of a blender unit used for hydraulic fracturing. The situation threatened not only to disrupt operational timelines but also to cause significant financial and reputational losses for the company.
However, thanks to coordinated teamwork and unconventional solutions, the issue was not only resolved, but also resulted in invaluable experience in international communication.
The main challenge was time. The standard procedure for ordering and delivering spare parts from China typically takes months. In this case, only a matter of days was available.
The team set an ambitious goal: to organize the delivery of a new clutch for the blender unit from China in a record-breaking 5 days.
Rapid financial coordination played a critical role. Payment to the Chinese supplier was completed in the shortest possible time.

The key “know-how” was the integration of the logistics chain with an employee business trip. At the time, company specialists were attending an international forum in China, and the component (clutch) was оперативно delivered via logistics channels directly to their location.
Because the specialists were physically in the right place at the right time, unnecessary transfer stages were eliminated, significantly accelerating the return of the critical part to the Kondaneft project.
