More than 800 employees of TMK received awards to mark the 25th anniversary of the company
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) marked its 25th anniversary on April 17, 2026. To commemorate the milestone, more than 800 employees were awarded state, departmental, regional, and corporate honours for their significant contribution to the development of the metallurgical industry and many years of dedicated service.
Among the awards were Letters of Appreciation from the President of the Russian Federation, the title of “Honoured Metallurgist”, and Certificates of Honour from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, as well as awards from regional authorities and corporate awards from TMK and its subsidiaries.
To mark the anniversary, ceremonial meetings were also held in the regions where TMK operates, with the participation of regional, municipal, and company leadership, along with corporate events for employees and environmental initiatives.
“This date reflects the maturity, strength, and success of our company. A quarter of a century is a significant period, and throughout this time TMK has followed a path of leadership. TMK is no longer just a pipe company, but a full-fledged engineering holding, and we will continue to move forward in this new segment. The next 25 years will become a period of transformation, qualitative growth of competencies, and the development of new industrial niches for the company,” said TMK Chief Executive Officer Sergey Chikalov.
Over 25 years, TMK has achieved leading positions in the industry through the implementation of a large-scale technical modernisation programme, within which it completely rebuilt its steelmaking operations, introduced modern pipe-rolling capacities, and transitioned to more environmentally friendly technologies. In addition, the company has developed a strong research base and created its own competency generator — the TMK Corporate University TMK2U. The company’s plants are successfully transforming into digital production complexes, implementing efficiency programmes at all stages of production and process management.
TMK was established in 2001, with its foundation formed by three leading Russian metallurgical enterprises — the Volzhsky Pipe Plant (VTZ), the Seversky Pipe Plant (STZ), and the Sinarsky Pipe Plant (SinTZ), as well as the TMK Trading House (TD TMK). Later, the Taganrog Metallurgical Plant (TAGMET) and the Orsk Machine-Building Plant (OMZ) joined the company, along with a number of oilfield service enterprises, on the basis of which TMK Oilfield Services was created. In 2021, the Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ) and the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChTPZ), along with several assets that were consolidated into the TMK Mechanical Engineering Division, became part of TMK. The company also includes two major research centres — the Scientific and Technical Centre (NTC) in Moscow and the Russian Research Institute of the Pipe Industry (RusNITI) in Chelyabinsk.
Today, TMK has mastered the production of almost all types of steel pipes and offers high-tech solutions for the development of hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves, creates new steel grades, and develops its own line of premium threaded connections. The company’s enterprises act as responsible partners in the regions where they operate, maintaining and developing social infrastructure.
On the eve of the anniversary, the company carried out a reorganisation and integrated eight key controlled entities — VTZ, PNTZ, SinTZ, STZ, TAGMET, ChTPZ, as well as TMK Pipeline Solutions (TMK TR) and the TMK Trading House (TD TMK) — which, from January 1, 2026, continued operating as branches of TMK. This made it possible to optimise the group’s corporate structure and improve operational efficiency.
