International Tender for Hydrocarbon Development Launched in Algeria

Algerian Minister of Energy Mohamed Arkab on Sunday launched the international tender “Algeria Bid Round 2026” for hydrocarbon development across seven blocks in the southern regions of the country, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

The tender includes, among others, the El Bourma-2, East Bordj Omar Idriss-1, and Illizi Ouest-1 blocks.

“With this tender, we are announcing the start of a new important phase in the development of the country’s hydrocarbon sector. The new bidding round is part of the state strategy aimed at strengthening the sector’s attractiveness… and maintaining Algeria’s reputation as a reliable destination for energy investments,” the minister said at the opening ceremony.

According to him, within the framework of the new tender round, Algeria hopes, amid current rapid geopolitical changes, to attract investment, enhance expertise, and advance technologies in order to expand hydrocarbon exploration and production and strengthen regional energy security.

He also emphasized that Algeria is currently “one of the leading and reliable” hydrocarbon suppliers, striving to ensure stable deliveries to international markets, supported by the necessary transport and export infrastructure.
