Gazprom Neft Geologists Discovered New Oil Reserves Using Digital Technologies

Gazprom Neft has discovered two new accumulations at fields in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra with total geological reserves exceeding 4 million tonnes. Additional formations were identified at the Yuzhno-Priobskoye and Orekhovo-Ermakovskoye fields thanks to Russian technologies for processing geological information.

A digital system created by Gazprom Neft, after analysing data over the entire period of study and development of mature fields, identified new prospective formations at depths of more than three kilometres. The first wells have already confirmed the presence of oil. At the Orekhovo-Ermakovskoye field, daily production reached 90 tonnes per day, and at the Yuzhno-Priobskoye field100 tonnes per day.

Digital tools have been helping Gazprom Neft search for oil and gas reserves at new and existing fields for more than seven years.

“The Gazprom Neft team creates and uses the most advanced digital technologies to find additional reserves where previous analytical methods were ineffective. Successful exploration and development of new formations at mature fields help increase production in areas with existing infrastructure,” said Gazpromneft-Khantos Chief Executive Officer Dmitry Kolupayev.
